Episode 72: Year of the Doula
If there is one thing that 2021 has taught us it is that this has been the year of the doula.
Navigating through 2021, doulas still feel the impact of visitor restrictions. Restrictions that limit their ability to provide in-person support. But at the same time, doulas across the globe have seen exponential growth in their business. Underscoring these business successes is the ability to pivot.
Doulas denied access to in-person support, pivoted to virtual support. Others approached local birth facilities to underscore the importance of doula support. As a result, doulas negotiate with facilities to allow doulas access to in-person support.
While the discourse of these restrictions plays out, the word doula is featured in the media on a regular basis. As a result, families are more informed now more than ever on the impact of doulas on a family’s birth and early parenting experiences.
This sets the stage for what has become The Year of The Doula.
Doula agencies are experiencing more demand for services than ever. The demand for independent contractors to provide doula services is at the highest demand ever.
Our special guest Randy Patterson joins us to discuss the exponential growth that many doulas are experiencing in 2021. We also discuss why 2022 is going to exceed expectations!
Come join us as we discuss The Year of the Doula!
